Regional Development South Australia (RDSA) is the peak body for driving regional development across South Australia. It is funded by all three levels of government and supported by eight Regional Development Australia (RDA) members who drive regional economic growth across the state.
The RDSA website plays an important role in promoting investment in regional SA and the work of RDSA and its members. It also acts as a central portal for key data, information, plans, and strategies that support regional growth and advocacy.
RDA Adelaide, in its statewide support role, commissioned a new website to merge the RDSA and RDA Adelaide websites. The aim was to better support RDSA’s statewide role. The result is a platform that strengthens communication and advocacy for regional South Australia.

Before the rebuild, content was spread across two WordPress websites. Resources accumulated as lists. Reports sat as PDFs. Event content was difficult to explore once published. Ongoing maintenance relied on external IT support and manual processes. These issues were addressed by creating a single, long-term digital foundation that improves access to evidence, supports statewide coordination, and reduces ongoing cost and risk.
“Nathan helped us turn years of regional development work into a resource that genuinely supports our role at a statewide level. The website now makes it easy for regions, governments, and other stakeholders to find relevant information, see connections across priorities, and build on existing work." – Leonie Boothby, RDA Adelaide CEO / Director Regional Development
I delivered the rebuild with a focus on governance, longevity, and real-world use, informed by experience working within the RDA network. The platform consolidates both organisations into one system and restructures how content is presented. Resources are now connected across regions, industries, and priorities. Summit content is broken into individual sessions, with videos, slide decks, and summaries treated as first-class content that appears wherever it is relevant.

For users, information is easier to find. Connections across regions and priorities are clearer. Stakeholders can access evidence without digging through disconnected pages or PDFs. Regional work now sits within a shared statewide context that supports evidence-based decision-making and long-term regional development outcomes.

"The website now makes it easy for regions, governments, and other stakeholders to find relevant information, see connections across priorities, and build on existing work. It has strengthened how we support coordination, evidence-based decision-making and regional development outcomes across South Australia," says Leonie.
